VICTOR CAMPOS TAPIA

Seahorse 3

I was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, in 1988.

Since I was a child, I have felt a deep attraction to drawing, painting, and art in general. I spent hours sketching and doing graffiti, which for me were both a distraction and a hobby.

After finishing my studies, I had the opportunity to travel to Spain. In 2008, I arrived in Palma de Mallorca, where I began painting signs in bars and restaurants to advertise cocktails and promotions. At the same time, I continued with my drawings and sketches, always seeking to learn and find new forms of expression.

In 2020, I decided to take another step forward: to prepare my first work from scratch. I built a 105 x 105 canvas with the intention of capturing a memory and learning in the process. From the first brushstroke, I was fascinated. It was a journey filled with joy, frustration, nostalgia, and, above all, a very special connection with my childhood. I called that work Amanecer en Recreo (Dawn in Recreo). Viña and Recreo are places that I will always carry in my heart.

Later, I repeated the experience with a larger canvas, where I depicted a supernova that became the starting point for a series of space-inspired works. Since then, painting has ceased to be just a hobby and has become a true passion.

I currently work as a sommelier at the Emilio Innovar restaurant, where I have the opportunity to exhibit some of my works. At this stage, I have focused my gaze on the underwater world, which inspires me to continue creating and exploring new forms.
